Training: Teaching Cyclo-dance

Learn about cycle dancing and discover how to design and run inclusive workshops that are accessible to all participants. This training combines physical practice, awareness of inclusion and creative exploration.
Objectives
- Acquire the basic techniques of cycle dancing and learn how to adapt them to the different needs of participants.
- Developing the quality and nuance of movement in an inclusive environment.
- Explore physical and sensory-motor approaches (musicality, rhythm, space, energy, relationships).
- Create an artistic space that encourages collective expression and creativity.
- Prepare to design workshops that are suitable and meaningful for all audiences.
In practice
The training combines theoretical input and practical scenarios with professionals and beneficiaries, for lively and directly applicable learning.
Schedule for the day
- 9am – 11am: Practice among participants
- 11 am – 12 pm: Practice with beneficiaries of L’Essentiel and participants
- 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Lunch break
- 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Practice with beneficiaries of L’Essentiel and participants
- 3:30 pm – 4 pm: Debriefing and final practice with participants
Teacher
This training course is led by José Melgar, trainer, teacher and specialist in inclusive dance. For over twenty years, he has been developing cycle dancing as a space for expression and encounter, where every body can find its place and its movement.
